Scientific Policy of the Journal
The journal Voćarstvo is a national open-access publication that has been published since 1967. Its goal is to present the results of current research in the following areas:
• Genetics and breeding of fruits;
• Cultivars and rootstocks of fruits;
• Physiology and ecology of fruits;
• Nursery production and technology of fruits growing;
• Protection of fruit trees;
• Harvesting, storage and fruit processing technologies;
• Marketing and economics of fruit production and processing.

Each year, the journal publishes two double issues. It features original scientific papers, review papers, and short notices. In the "News from Fruit Growing" section, authors can also submit professional articles, books, monographs and manuscripts reviews, and other informative articles.
Authors should prepare their manuscripts in accordance with the guidelines outlined in the instructions for writing papers, which are available on the journal’s website.
Submissions are made electronically via email. Authors will receive a confirmation of their submission, along with regular updates on the status of their paper. Original scientific papers, review papers, and short communications undergo a double-blind peer review process. To ensure impartiality, both the identities of the authors and reviewers are concealed from each other. The editor-in-chief, in collaboration with the Editorial Board, selects qualified reviewers based on their expertise in the relevant field.
Reviewers are expected to complete their evaluations within 3–4 weeks. Once the review process is complete, the editor informs the authors of the decision (accept, minor revision, major revision, or reject) and provides the reviewers' comments.
Materials submitted for publication in the "News from Fruit Growing" section are reviewed and approved by the editor-in-chief in consultation with the Editorial Board.
